The night screams for innocents, calls out to the willing to do its bidding. The wind carries the message the night sends on currents strong enough to knock down men. Our ears receive the message, eager to perform the task, eager to please the night, and its dark desires.
The night envelops us in its cloak of desires, manipulates our minds, our hearts. The night takes us apon her lap and whispers  punishments and tortures that can be performed if we shall not listen.  We do her bidding, we give in to her desires, and yet she still is unsatisfied. The night howls for attention, craves blood, and is in estacy when she entrances us all. we are all fooled by the night's output, but beneath it all, we know. We know what hides

within the night, curled up in wait of being released. We know what is there all to well, for we have dreams about it while we are sleeping, for dreams are fabrications

of the night.  We all have seen what hides in the night, waiting, in our dreams. It is always at the back of our minds, scaring us half to death. For the creature that lies in wait is a fabrication
of ourselves. We are the creature that we all fear. Can't we see ourselves, curled up under the night's cloak, licking blood off our fingers...or having that animal lust showing in our eyes. We are what we fear. we are the night

Yo Lady Ayla,

I rather like this.  It takes me back to nights in Wheeling, and Moundsville.

They were always a source of inspiration.

It was just surpising that someone else lived in WV, I guess. It's not a place that's mentioned often, at least not to me.
