spreading the cards on a blanket like jewelry on the sky hoping to pick the one that has your special marking like lipstick on a shot glass to sweeten the whiskey your eyes wear their sunday gown has the smile off the shoulder with lace from lip side kiss places where a dancer would worship moments and you seem comfortable too letting me know it is you there behind the other reasons from before that you brought your hesitation along in the big suitcase with wheels that we would sit on for hours and talk about the discomfort and how hard it was on our dreams you say the queen is pretty in black but then you blush at my joker and how he looks up your dress so I take the red one instead and touch her heart places slowly while I watch you close your eyes and ask is it ok to say love words ____________________ |
