Blessings of Love

I'll never forget the day
that I believed in love
and love in return
believed in me;
for love is a step of faith
where a piece of your heart is given
not knowing if it is wanted, needed
or appreciated by another,
it is a choice that can be made
with no control or guarantee
of a positive outcome,
it is a journey into the unknown,
a place of vulnerability,
it is a heart freely giving
that which it desires to receive,
it is the softening of a heart
that wants acceptance and appreciation.
I'm so glad I reached out to give
and receive the blessings of love.

James - There is a deep knowing in your poem and that knowing is wonderfully expressed.  Enjoyed!
