Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-08-02 02:35 AM

I sat down and wrote this quick poem
kind of smaltzy and sugary and laughed.
That is not who we are, nope not at all.
We are searing and cynical.
We are laughter amid passion.
We are tiptoeing towards the border of impropriety.
And ‘bye’ is not part of our punch line.
So, dance with me toward the edge,
share my gasps of delight and knowledge
that there’s no end to love and friendship;
‘bye’ is a punctuation mark that does not apply to you.

I have always wanted to learn to Rumba.
You are the perfect partner.

I'd love to ... but unfortunately
Alison.
Well I'm afraid I don't know beans about Rumba ...
I don't even know how to vilar la bamba, except that se nececita una poca de gracia.  But I have some strong beliefs about friendship,  that friendship need never end, that it is for life, if not forever.
In short, if you had to break it up, then it was NEVER a friendship to begin with ...
regardless of whatever else it was pretended to be; because a friend will stay with you for life!

don't know the rhumba--
don't even know how to dance---
but i'll journey with you down
life's mystic pathway and
wander or wonder among the many choices
and ex[eriences we are given to know, and we can scratch our heads together as we
try to make sense of it all!

Happy Rhumba to You,

"We are laughter amid passion." ~ Smiling here!

"...there’s no end to love and friendship"

~ Not to true love and friendship! And may all the love and friendships in your life be true! You deserve nothing less, my dear, sweet, true friend for life!

You are precious!!! Rumba and dance all cares
away!

Love,
Linda xo

Lady, you just brought me back to over a quarter of a century.

Before I became a recluse, I used to do this song with a little R&B band, and if there weren't a lot of people in the club, and nod, if I'd had a few, they'd persuade me to do a sing with 'em...

I did it more like Maria Muldaur, but this version by Nicolette L. is close enough:

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my....

I doubt I'll ever get up onstage again (the age of cellphone cameras and youtube has only increased my stagefright) but oh I used to have fun when I could quit worrying about the possibility of being confronted by my own foolishness.

Thank you, and oh, we should all take Rumba lessons!

Dance away, Alison!  It's good for the soul with or without a partner.  Enjoyed your words!

The Rumba, as I have heard, like any other dances that involves partners, having a friend that you can trust to be there in the right way on the right note makes all the difference. I believe you have to trust your partner when it comes to dancing, no matter what type it is.
