A New World Order?

I sign a lot of petitions
(No, not the “forwarded” kind)
I sign letters from some sites
And add some words from my mind.

I try to be involved
(Not, as much as I could)
We could change things around
If more people, only would.

For some, it is apathy
And some, I’m sure, are scared
But, how will they know your wishes
If, your thoughts are never shared.

Americans used to care about
Our Country and were proud
When things were what they didn’t like
They spoke their mind out loud.

We can’t do it at the polls
We vote, then we walk away
Those who represent (?) us
Can’t hear us, if we don’t say!

We must stay on their ass
And watch them all the time
Demand an “honest” days work
From that payroll, from yours and mine.

When they steal from us
They should be sent to jail
If enough of us demand it
Maybe justice would prevail.

But, we cast our vote
And then, we turn them free
Never, making them account
To the folks, like you and me.

What happened to that pride
That, once felt, across our Land?
When will we take our Nation back?
We might be facing, the last stand!

We have let the rule of law
Be twisted all around
And, political correctness
Has left us gagged and bound.

The New World Order
Will, one day, enslave us all
But, guess we will deserve it
Because, we let Freedom fall.

It's a shame that many (most?) folk apparently tend to avoid reading
and/or commenting on 'blunt truth' writes of this nature and importance.

It would indeed be lovely if all of America's (and humanities) ever-deepening
troubles didn't really exist or would simply just 'go away' someday on their own
[as if 'a problem ignored is a problem solved' really worked]...

Democracy is in its death throws...and few seem to care...or even notice...

applause for this 'penning' and 'voice in the wilderness' authors such as this
who still try to provide 'reality therapy' to the oblivious...in this latter day and
late hour of the "Runaway American Dream"!

Abe,

My favorite part of the newspaper is the editorial page.  I write quite a few myself.

You wrote a good one Abe
It's much the same over here

Political correctness has got
way out of hand but what can we do.
