.

Very late at night
When a full moon has risen
And an ocean of stars
Sparkles above the sea

When waves
Shush the world
To listen for awhile
To words spoken long ago

It is then again
I see your long
Hair shimmering
The slender figure
Of a young woman
Dancing along the shore

A little autumn chill
In the evening air
A candle in the window
To bring us home

In my opinion, one of your very best, John!

[grand impressionism with wonderful images]...

A touching 'tribute to' a special memory. Sometimes we read lines so beautiful, we wish we had written them. There are several in this poem that evoke that thought, but I lay down my selfishness in honour of excellence.

so very well done!!!

I enjoy poetry that makes a person visualize the scene, and yours does just that.
