The moments come, the moments go,
and we the fine-tuned memory store
pile them up from floor to roof
in boxes, bags, or simply bare
to face the elements of time.

And always are the open, clear,
the ones that first begin to break
for they are vulnerable like love
to the moisture of heartache.

Drip-drip and then the rust of time
till finally the truth displayed
beneath the worn remains
of the once beautiful.

So I know (big deal) what lies beneath
the false veneer of how I seem
and ‘tis nought but the Goddess, love
now useless, old, and still in need.

And so of rust it eats away
daily, daily, every day,
to not litter up our memory store
with remnants of our falsity.

That is sometimes true!

This whole thing is beautiful. It's hard for me to pick a favorite stanza or set. Awesome.

Thanks AC and XGX - I'm "into" short forms now (hence the initials) because I've learnt that I will never know the whole but I'm talking about life you understand.
