A drop
Then one more
And then another, and then…!
The glistening leaves
The damp, dull walls-
nature’s icy whiplashes-
The pattering fixture
Echoes in my ears.
Rain drenched earth
A rain washed mind
Fighting for air
For survival
Parasitical tentacles
Of moss, lichen and fungus,
Ubiquitous in their greed-
Apathy?
In the intense humidity
In the eternity of seasons
In the spring
After the winter after the rain.
