Use to be
there wouldn't be a day gone by
that I wouldn't be here
enjoying each cry,
laugh, happiness, sad,
touching moment,
poetry good and bad.

I realized I haven't posted
in a week and don't know why,
no time, no energy,
the poet left to die.

Life gets in the way sometimes.
I wanted to say I'm sorry to my friends.
Pray I come alive again
where the road next bends.

Please don't go Dixie.  At least, just pop in and read at least one  poem every day.  If you don't comment, nobody will know you are here and you can spend as little time as you like.  There is always something inspirational here.  Later, when you are ready perhaps you may wish to start commenting again - or post the odd message or two in Announcements and Links so that we know you are OK.  While you are away, perhaps several poems will be born and you will come back with lots bursting to be posted.

If you really need to go, I'm sure I speak for all your friends when I say that we will understand, but please come back as soon as you can.

We will miss you, if you really are going to leave us for a while.

Dear Dixie girl, seven days are not that dramatic after all! All of us every now and then need to eclipse for one reason or the other.
You are a wonderful part of this family of poets and we do miss you when you are away, you know that!
Now you are here and I enjoy you!

Love and hugs.

Yo Passing shadows,

Get over it Hon.  Come on now, you can do it.

This poem works well.

Well, after 444 gazillion posts I can't imagine why anyone would mind an occasional hiatus.

Sometimes we all need renewal breaks. Perhaps, learning something new will trigger the flow of thoughts and words. I wish you happiness, Dixie, wherever your pathway takes you, and that it always brings your back to this blue circle for a visit.

Hey Dixie~  This makes me sad, and I feel for you.  I have felt this way before, then posted my farewell, only to have someone say in a reply, why do people need to make an announcement, just go already, which only made me feel worse.  Please know I'm not implying that at all,  because when we get to this point we are really hurting inside, and I feel for you, truly I do.   I'm going to miss you while you're gone, but like you wrote not too long ago, "you'll always come home" and I'm going to hold you to that Missy.   Just take some time, even if it's only a day or two, sometimes that's all we need to get a handle on our emotions.  I think the feelings of despair don't necessarily disappear, they tend to subside, like the tides, they are a constant and no matter what it takes we learn to go with the ebb and flow.

Gentle hugs to you, Dixie~

Dixie,

When I came to PiP, I was greeted warmly by many.  Some were consistant in their support of my poetry - and some enveloped me in feelings of friendship.  Two years have come and gone, and I am more at ease on these blue pages and feel less like an interloper who rides on the efforts of others who have created such a haven for many.

You, Dixie, are a huge reason why I have come as far as I have in PiP.  Every little word of encouragement and friendship bolstered me.  Sometimes I would be feeling lonely here or feeling like I was out of place, and along you would come with some words to make me know that there was room for me here.

You have a gift.  Yes, you have written 44 gazillion posts.  There are probably 42 gazzilion words of friendship and kindess in those numbers.

You take all the time you need to find your voice again.  Twice I have gone away for a week or so.  Recently, I went for several weeks without being able to write a word hardly.  Writing is part of me as is the blood that flows through my veins.  I think it is part of you too.

Perhaps your feeling of loss is in that you are undergoing some kind of writer's block right now.  It's hard to realize that this will pass.

Dixie, you have been through a lot.  Maybe you are undergoing growing pains and your poetry has to catch up with your brain and this growth.  When it does, you will blossom as we have never seen you.  I would bet that this is true.

Have you read Margherita's poem.  I am thinking of it when I write to you.  Check it out - you will soar again, my friend.  You will soar.

You are a beutiful woman and friend - and I love you.

Alison

Dixie - The poet in you will never die but it does sometimes have to step aside for life.  Be happy to let life have its time for it surely does deserve that but know that the poet in you is always there just waiting to be called forth again.  I have always enjoyed your poetry and I know I will again.

My best to you
Hugs

ya'll, I'm not leaving, never meant to say that at all, it's just that I feel bad that I'm not here like I once was.

Thank you each for your support and love

Dixie don't even think about leaving, you are a very valued member of PIP and we all want to see your poetry displayed here, even if it's not as frequent now as it used to be. A big hug to you my dear. Love

you better not go any place.  I missed you too much last time you were gone!

Hang in there, Dixie. I haven't known you as long as some of the others but I would surely miss you if you weren't here.

thanks

I remember when I once spent hours at a time here, every day. It just makes me sad that I don't have that in me right now.

And all of your words of beauty are passing by when I so used to enjoy reading each new post and commenting.

I'm not sure what happened.

Love you guys!

Funny, isn't it?  A lot of us leave for a while . . . for lots of different reasons, presumably mostly time constraints, . . . but we always come back home.  We just can't stay away for too long!

I too understand the feeling of not being here.  I didn't come here for some months, so much was going on inside.  When the time was right I returned and my pen began to write once more.  Hope this is the case for you too.  lis

Dixie dear, don't distress or dispair,
my muse has been missing for weeks at a time, and sometimes all I can think of is rhyme.  Just be happy in whatever you do, and the muse of living will write for you.

Dix, I don't know many of us long timers that were here like we use to be. It's not because it's not fun anymore, because it is!

Priorities change. We change. Muses dry up, take a break, sometimes even an extended vacation that we didn't even pay for!

We're just glad to know that while you're not here all the time...you're here!

Dixie...You and i must be riding the same bus. No time too write and when I have the time there is no poetry burning to be released from my heart.
The desire, want and need is still there but for some reason it just won't surface.
I think maybe i've written maybe 6-8 poems since the first of the year.
I sort of look at this time of not writing as a time of healing from all of the things I have been through and someday I know my heart will open up again too share with all my poetry as I am sure yours will do also...Paul
