Angelo Is Strong and Spare

Angelo is strong
and spare.

He’s solid muscle,
not an ounce of flab.

Sally and Felix feed him
just what he needs,
and no more.

They tell Angelo
about their own experience
with food
when they were his age.

They tell him how
they used to eat
out of peoples
garbage cans.

They know just how much
to feed Angelo
to keep him strong, and spare.

Angelo likes it that way.

It helps him snag
the pretty girls.

You are indeed a lucky person then.

Of course Angelo is one of my sons. As a matter of fact, as I was writing this he called me on the phone. He's thoughtful that way. He and his wife are both math people.
