It’s neither a string, a cord, noose, rein,
that tethers a woman to an ordinary man
but something unseen in the deep within
that makes her know she’ll never be free.

Sometimes she thinks a spear, knife, saw,
or a firm intent to cut off the feel
and she thinks and thinks of how to appear
distant, aloof, and apart from it all.

Maybe she’ll cry; she does sometimes
when right on the edge of success
but the ground of success slides down the cliff
and she must again backtrack.

Then into the blue of the awesome sea
and the green of an evergreen tree
but that doesn’t work and so she avows
to let it lie fallow inside.

But anything fallow inside not out
always rebels against its demise
and regroups in double-quick time
like an army of militant beings
intent on protecting and safeguarding
their very own territory.

It’s neither a string, a cord, noose, rein,
but a thingamajig in the feel
that wiggles inside like a gizmo unleashed
when a spear, knife, saw, is in mind!

This sits like an elephant in the room, m'friend...
and we walk all around it, not quite sure
if it even knows its name.

At least, this is what I'm taking away on this.

That elephant honored me with it's presence by sitting on my head.

... and that wouldn't be a bad choice, dear Helen! But it seems we always get involved too much to be lucid ...

Smiling at the elephant on garapan's head!

And yes, sometimes it feels just like this.

Great introspection!

Love and hugs.

Helen~
DearDearHelen ...

'It’s neither a string, a cord, noose, rein,
that tethers a woman to an ordinary man
but something unseen in the deep within
that makes her know she’ll never be free.'

I just keep sitting and reading this, pondering my own thoughts and how it has applied to me in my lifetime~

Sometimes I guess I found the strength to cut the tether myself and sometimes someone else cut the tether without my consent~
'Maybe she’ll cry; she does sometimes'

Either way ... eventually I floated free~

This is a deep flow of ink dear lady~
One that I think I'll come back to many times~

Love and many *Huglets*
