more you looked down at your shoes
and drew lovers in the sand accidentally

but erased them quickly when you noticed
how your leg looked posed that way
and how my smile fit it better than his

I don't know if you heard me speak
as I mentioned my reasons for wanting
but I know you knew the answer already

as it was written on your own name tag
