It’s a way hot twelve midnight,
the middle of July.

Bones and Jake are out shooting hoops,
because it’s too damned hot to sleep.

A car pulls up,
the guy hollers out,
hey,
skinny-boy,
come over here
I wish to speak to you.

Bones goes over,
asks what he wants.

The guy asks if Bones
wants to make some money.

Hey,
that’s Bones thing,
so he says
“yeah”.

Bones climbs in the car.
The guy takes him out of town.
They drive up a long drive way.
There’s a large house there.

The guy takes Bones
through an enormous door.

Bones sees it crowded in there.

What happened there
left Bones speechless.

He would never speak again.

When they were finished with Bones,
they dumped him back in the city,
where he was later found.

Bobby

If this is a true story, then I'm going to cry.
What a tragic and heinous crime. I actually feel sick to my stomach.

I'm speechless.

Dear Linda,

Please don't cry.  All of my stories are complete fictions.

Life is loaded down with things that should never happen.

Thanks for your concern for people like Bones.

Love Bobby

Fiction, yet based on what happens for a truth all around you, sage one. Loved the poem.

Thanks XGarapanX,

Yes, Bones was a real person.  We warned him about the dangers of his life.  I haven't heard from him in many years.  The last time I talked to him on the phone he was okay.

Such things happen all the time.  People disappear.

It's only fiction that it didn't happen to Bones - but it happens, and I think much of the "fiction" of your poems echoes stories of your past.  I think you were born to be the story-teller - and I am glad that you are telling the stories and the truths within them.  Like Linda, I am swiping at tears as I write this response.  I like Bones - and this is all so wrong.

Thanks dear Alison,

Thanks for the kind words on this effort.

I'm happy that you like Bones.  He was a good friend, and he may still be alive.

You are correct of course, it was all completely wrong, and tragic.

Love Bobby

Bones has taken on many shades and faced many encounters but still remained an interesting character.
