A Day To Play

Quite proud I am, as I stand here upon the putting green
I ‘m shooting the greatest game of golf that I have ever seen
Shot after shot I’ve played my way across this wicked course
And never have my drives been made with such an awesome force

I’ve played out of the rough with shots that no one would believe
My putting’s been much better than I ever could conceive
The sand traps hold no sway o’er me, I blast my way right out
With every wondrous shot that’s made I give a vict’ry shout

Everyone’s been staring, they just can’t believe my play
They haven’t seen a player shoot a game like this all day
Shaking their clubs in jealousy, they really are upset
But I just take my putter out, they ain’t seen nothin' yet

As I draw back and make my putt and watch the ball go in
I can’t believe how wonderful my playing here has been
I’ve shot a sixty-three today and can’t believe it’s so
Gleefully I walk away, only seventeen holes to go

I know just enough about golf to know this is very funny, Stephen.

May your scorecard take full advantage of an abysmal short term memory.  I would play with you anyday! hehe... Funny... I leave with a smile on my face to dust off my clubs.

Steve that sounds like me in my golf playing days. At that rate you are a much

better poet than you are a golfer.
A great poem that I really enjoyed.
