So suffer trees and bushes, all
this woman’s cut and sever
of misdirected growth
and they reach out mindfully
to damage their attacker
but attackers yet are saviours
in the summer of new life.

I can see the background now
grey and deadly, boring
as if the past must take a stand
and be likewise attacked
but I have no wish to save
what cannot be altered.

I stand amidst the dead wood
happy to be free
to create a new reality
on my side of the deadly
in conscious awareness
of the season’s time-frame.

‘tis the garden of my heart
I’m preparing now to bloom
cognisant of the damage
that first and foremost must be wrought
before the truly wonderful
is reaped and harvested!

~ Honey, I do so understand this! ~ as I often do with your deeply meaningful poetry.

Much love,

Beautiful association of gardens, dear Helen! I always feel the pain of the plants when there is need to cut them and I have seen amazing reactions in plants ... it is a pity that we have to cut and sever!

Likewise, our inner garden can hold an immeasurable amount of love and emotions, but still we need to let go of certain connections, before we can fully accept new ones.

I am sure, dear poetess, that your heart is in full bloom and the fragrance is perceived  ...

Enjoyed.

Love and hugs.

Lovely Linda - thank you so much for understanding and, dear Margherita, you are so right about the letting go.  I'm beginning to think that all of my past must go even though there's a part of it that I so very much want to keep.

Love to you both
Helen
