As the eagle flies
I hear the cries
from a far and distant past
calling me..

return and see
just what mankind has cast

away

thrown to the side
while buried deeply, yet residing
here, there and everywhere...

On sacred soil
we have tread
while tears of Nations
on earth were bled
seeping deep
into the ground
uniting each
all are bound
by the whispers
on the wind

the ancient spirits,with wisdom
speak again

with the rising
of each dawn in new
remember that
the past holds truths
that binds one to all
and all to one
in circles completed

and just begun....

Listen,as the eaglef l i e s........

An absolutely beautiful, deeply sensitive reminder, dear Donna!

May we recover the sacred bond with Mother Earth and with all of humanity.

Enjoyed this much.

Love,
Margherita

Oh, boy am I LISTENING, Donna!  This was so soothing to the soul, even the tears - I understand the connection, but I forget exactly what it was called - The Vale of Tears - the Years of Tears - I know that isn't right, but it was something like that - but that we are all connected - we can heal those tears of the past - and they can soothe and wash our souls clean.

I need this poem right now and I have it!  That makes me a very lucky person!  Thank you.

Just lovely and always 'timely', dear Gentle Spirit~

And ... sweet Owl ... The Trail of Tears is a very sad history of what happened to our people~
The salt-water pools of yesteryear are an ugly look into the time when the TRUE Native Americans were stripped of so much and forced to walk so far across this land because of the greed of the new settlers~

Donna~
Thank you for this~

Everything about this post was pure perfection ~ and was felt to the core of my solar plexus ~ and my heart.

I commend you on this. Your Cherokee blood remembers and tells the story well.

Love & Native Light,
Linda

Oh, of course, Marge - the Trail of Tears - thank you for that.  Yes, a sad, sad time.  Humanity is so often inhumane to its own kind!

I say, yet again, if only humankind (or human-unkind) could reach the civilisation of the Vervet monkey . . .

Donna

Beautiful.

I hope we never silence the earth and the stories that it has to share.

Lovely, dear heart.
and I'm so glad you have the poem
both within the photo,
as well as on the page, because
in this manner, those who cannot read
the .jpg version will be able to capture
your fine words.
