            Adrift

A small empty boat
adrift on the silver-ripple
  moonlight…
quintescent luminescence
and enlightenment!

I'm going to drift into dreamland now,
on that tiny boat.

I think you're title says it all,
but I gotta love the silver ripple effect.

Pretty poem~

Bruce~
Ah, you did a 'remember number' on me with this one~

Much, much applause~

Let's see if I can find that little drift of boat ...
the one that I once wrote~
If I can ... I think that I
will *re-gift* it in your name~

Magical, indeed!

Now I see where dear Marge felt inspired to re-gift you with her moon-boat scenery.

Both, your poem and hers, are delightful.

Love,
Margherita

Even 'Adrift', a leaf is bound by the currents of its own river. This idyllic setting could be a metaphor for our lives. The silver moonlight is like a promise, an earnest of what the day will bring when the sun rises- a reflection of what will be. It carried me with it.

Is there room enough on that boat for me?!?

A little gem, you have penned!

I love your poem, Bruce - that enlightenment - although somewhat ambiguous, I choose to accept as not the cynical enlightenment of something sad, but the awakening to the light of something beautiful and good.

Bruce,

I close my eyes and I see - and I feel the gentle rocking of a little moon boat.

Thank you.
