Simple Truth

I’m a tad bit jealous,
But I know I shouldn’t be
He’s in your life too,
Even though I want it to just be me

He says he loves you
With all his heart
But baby, the love you see from me,
Is only just a part.

I know I love you,
Of this I’m sure.
I’ll hide it no longer,
Please rest assured.

I look at myself,
Ten years down the road
It is you that I see
In our humble abode

Gathered ‘round the Christmas tree
Just us and the kids
Just give me a chance,
With this I bid.

When you return
From Colorado
I’ll be there to
Take you to El Dorado

This city of gold,
That our hearts will create
When everyone sees us,
They’ll know it’s no fake

We’ll load up my car
And drive far away
In due time they’ll see
And believe everything we say

Right now people say I’m crazy
They don’t know why I’m going back to you
The simple truth is
I love you too
