Body To Water

It began levitated in the palms, then tossed in cascading fingers
Surfing white wishes, in battle with my alter ego
Rising up in crest high, moving raw power in one artful sigh
The part of me Satan purely spied before his fall
Merely so small a thing, adrift in tidal mercy
An instant cool, that abated even the sun’s rays to think rain
Turning me over, in bronze and afterglow blue
Another gulp, the child in me just duckling dunk over wave
Taken all in, every breath and every moment
Until, finally, given in to hunger, let loose of raft
Untied my heart from the waters of this thriving place
And jello-legged, my stumble took me into shore
One last glance at playground perfect’s spin again
How blessed this beach, that calls me out into its reach
Into its roar and reign, all commanding of extremes, both joy and pain
And how very blessed am I, to have made time just the same

I agree with XGX - your poems should always be read several time (at least once aloud!)always savored for their content, beauty and depth of understanding.

Body to Water...to wine!

Your writes and ponderings always soothe my troubled waters.
