(here's an epic I've been stuck on for half a year, finally finished. Seems like it's half song and half poem, sorta like a soem...or pong..wait..posong? ah, whatever..)

Escapades

Black Monday
finds the moon's glow
climbing the fire escapes
and the streets go on dreaming
without me

A curious grey
covers me head to toe
elegant introverted escapades
her fingers dug in me for meaning
there's nothing to see

My heart takes in her smile
a scenic country mile
I wanna follow that feeling down
put it in my pocket
a funhouse mirror of my frown

Ruby Tuesday
unwinds like a carousel
broken busted horses die
and the lovers are lost in reverie
but not me

Words can't say
the foggy feelings to dispel
thunder rolls the rain from her eyes
snaring in my lonesome idiot jubilee
shake the leaves off my tree

My bones feel the winter
as always I lose then win her
flippin' through the rerun of days
tryin' to find a little moon
in a vast yellow sea of suns

Blue December
falls like a ghost train
pouring out of the clouds
as I dive off her eyelashes
and splash into her teary puddles of sky

Back to Monday
I'm covered up in teary rain
climbing my arms and shoulders
and the black night's embers they smolder
within me

Within this frame of tender and tame escapades
she sees only the moon in me
I feel only the sun inside her
and the streets they go on dreaming of love
without me
without me

This was wonderful.
There was definitely a bit of song to it, and it worked.

Well, I was a songwriter before I ever touched a poetic pen. This is EXTREMELY songish.. ly.

I see it as a song
since it has such a great rhythm to the cadence.   Very well done, SD
