           The Trouble With Boots

The Kindergarten teacher was helping young Johnny
Who was unable to put on his small cowboy boots,
Asking her assistance, she was quite understanding,
The fact they were tight, she could not dispute.

At last when the second boot was finally in place,
Teacher tried to keep cool while looking deadbeat,
Johnny looked down at them with a sad look on his face,
Saying teacher, both of these boots are on the wrong feet.

No wonder she thought, why didn’t I notice,
It wasn’t something she would want to repeat,
Trying to keep her cool she worked with young Johnny
To get his little boots back onto his right feet.

When finally back on, Johnny said they’re not my boots
And the poor teacher did her best not to scream,
With difficulty they removed the boots once again,
While teacher held back an explosion of steam.

Johnny said,‘ these little boots belong to my brother,
Mum told me to wear them, he spoke with disdain,
Teacher didn’t know why she should even bother,
As she struggled to put them back on once again.

She then helped him into his little rain coat,
Her feelings at last was now quite resolute,
Then remembering, she said, where are your mittens,
He said, I stuffed them into the toes of my boots.

        Her trial starts next month

This is hillarious, Lindsay. Especially to me, since this was my life for 30 years and
I wasn't prosecuted once. I'm a patient woman.

Lindsay, this is masterfully told and has me laughing out loud!! Oh, gosh, I think if I had ever found myself in such a situation I am quite sure that I would have flinged the boots out of the window ...

This is a keeper for rainy days!!!

Love and joy!

To all you wonderful friends and poets, you are the ones who keep me writing, for if you can have a laugh when you read my nonsense then you make me feel humble and happy at the same time. I thank you sincerely. God bless you all. I'm going into respite for about three weeks tomorrow so take care dear friends till we meet again.

Yo LindsayP,

I hope that idiot teacher learned a lesson from her experience.  If she had any sense, she would have shaken each boot upside-down to check for scorpions, spiders, or roaches.  I learned to do that at an early age.
