"Most people run away from tornadoes. I run to them.
You gotta take risks in life if you wanna get some great footage."
-Dixie Alligood, stormchaser

I suppose I have become a rare sighting,
like lightning, my name fleeting-
life somehow changed me,
resources are depleting.

Hard roads taken,
hair growing gray,
haven't been able to think
of things I want to say.

But it's okay.

I'm still keeping home in my heart
though I'm out there trying
to make my Erin Brockovich moment
before I realize I'm dying

so I want you to know
that in writing this poem
I am never too far away
and I'll always come home.

My dear friend Dixie, I love your philosophy and this sensitive and significant write shows you are doing the right thing.
Gray hair isn't a problem, but I wish you to solve the problems that might cause them to appear.
May you always feel  the warmth of home.

Love and hugs.

You should,
at least as a hobby,
see if there’s anyone
willing to publish you . . .

Awesome. Loved the stormchaser's quote, too.

Hi, Passing Shadows, we are forever changed, are we not, by the strongest storms?
Well done, PS,

You are an inspiration.  It is always wonderful to read your work and your honesty w/regards to the struggles you are so bravely facing.  I know that when I read some of your heartwrenching pieces I am greatful to know that I am not alone in the struggle of being human.  It gives hope....maybe your Erin B. moment is touching people right here, in your blue home...thank you...kat

Passing Shadows there is definately no place like home, no matter where you travel or what you do so don't leave it to long before you return. Don't worry about the gray hair, enjoy the fact that you have grown old enough to have gray hair and that's a plus. Good luck my dear.

Water's still wet, and we still breathe the same air, dear friend, and I find I love more and make allowances more for those who resemble the above stanza you penned - - -
they are me, I am them....you and I, our hearts touch, though we most likely never will.

I remember you. . . each and every day.
