In the tour de France,
In the assault of Pyrenees
the falls from cycle
make abandon the race...
In the life
the falls from heart,
the falls from words
are more hurtful
but you can't abandon the race,
you change down for other routes.

That's right, we can't abandon the race or be a quitter.
There's always going to be a few bumps in the road
and we learn to get over them.  It's a tricky maneauver
but in the long run we win simply because we finished what we started.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

I enjoyed reading your poem this morning, islander.

But we are allowed to sulk and fume for a while, aren't we?

Hello Kaile, I wish not, if it is so you can leave your bicycle and walk calmly...

At first, I thought of nothing but a race
and after reading on....it became much
more clear that it had many meanings...

Most wise....

Thank You

Hi Yann,
“the falls from heart,
the falls from words
are more hurtful”

They do leave some bruises too; I still agree we cannot abandon the race. Enjoyed this one. Prasad

Dear Yann, I appreciate very much your ability to observe and to analyze philosophically a simple fall from the bike.

In life we have indeed no choice, when we fall it will hurt but we must continue to give our best.

Love,
Margherita

I love your poems, and the unusual topics you write about - especially the nature ones and the philosophical ones, like this one.

yann,

So much to think about in this short little poem of yours.  I have come back to it several times - and am saving it this go around.
