The mouths of the deep were engaging,

around the southern tip,

as the lips
of two oceans
were locked forever

in a full, and lasting
parting, kiss,
that forgot to stop,

at lands end.

Swirling,
around the point
from one sea to another,
as bracing winds slapped
any thoughts of the es-
cape of good hope,
and of righteous
convictions,

I landed.

In this mother land of diamonds,
In this soil of,
succulents, and lush grasslands;

in this world of acacia trees,
and aloes,
and of
black ironwood.

This,
the mythical birthplace,

of humanity,

this,
The free state of
satyagraha,

“the firmness of truth”

and,

the prize of peace,
known by some as,
“Madiba”

and others, as,

Mandela.

I had finally arrived,
If not in body,

in heart.

And unto which
I would begin,

my raw,
and unrelenting,

start,

on this someday of sometime,
where we secretly meet.

Where words are so gentle
and smiles well,

they are always
there for us

to keep.

Some say that faith
is just a myth,

and that coincidence,
is a god’s way,

of you know,
keeping,

anonymous.

But the light was there,
after sun had set,

a night the stars,
would not regret,

as the hand of faith,
reached from the dark

to say to me,

that reason,
may be lunacy,

but delusion,

is seeing your world
as it is,

and not as,
it should be.

As it was on a shoreline,
named,

“Natalia”

not too far
from Richard’s Bay

where I saw her
on her prancing horse

as the light,
began to bow,
and sway,

from the whispers
of the sun,
that was shining,

on her hair,

as she galloped down
the golden dunes,
stretched atop,
upon her
beloved mare,

and then,
came to a stop,

and turned to me,

and smiled,

and,
we both knew.

We never know
until that moment
how much it really hurts
to lose
something,

or someone,

you,

never really had,

in the first
place.

As words once said
and felt,
wash up on rocky capes
of good hope,

and loves lost.

Let’s get lost together
In this zulu land of the star people
Without, “apart hood”

Celebrating the lion
And the wildebeest
In the valley of a thousand hills

In our meadow,
Of a thousand sighs,

With, “bring and braii’s”
and, “chop and dop’s”,
with kebabs, chakalaka
and of course some pap

As words unsaid
were,
already true

in unborn time,
and flowing rhyme,

and reflections,

in the wonder,

of your eyes.

They say that hope
is barren,
but each night
I wish the sun,

and you,

will rise again,

and still
each morning
it has,

come true

as miles
don’t separate,

if you don’t
want them,
to.

Fondness,

surpasses,
moments and space,

as you are the smile,
upon my face

to which upon my heart
you’ll stay.

As I will always
forget you

for never,

and a day.

I'm sure she'll love it, 'tis a beautiful, serene, and moving write.

Kind of wraps around the heart and holds it close.

From a soul of one, through the soul of a land, to the soul of a woman.  It's beautiful in words and thought.

A very rich and beautiful poem, dear Richy. Full of colorful emotions, haunting in their intensity.
