Butchered dreams

Murderous regimes

Slaying of innocents

Ultimate crimes of humanity

Cries of the women

Tortured and raped

Enslaving of children

To kill for their hate

Carnage and bloodshed

A country so drowns

Millions the souls have bled

Annihilation is now

Victor, I am thousands of miles away from Darfur (I live in Durban, South Africa), but I am in Africa and I am part of all Africa and all Africa is part of me, and my heart cries too for the wounding and carnage of bodies, and the rape of souls on our beautiful continent.  Thank you for this.

I believe that we can turn it around.

I think, sometimes in our slating of the powers that be, and the guilt of our own apathy, that we forget that there are so many good people who are doing so many good things to help.

I think we also forget the power of prayer, and the power of voicing of our concern, as you have done in this poem.  Every little thing we do counts.  Thank you for caring and for doing what you can.

An absolute heartbreak write.
What humans do to other humans is beyond belief, beyond understanding.
