Many people on this earth don’t really look pretty as many do however I know it myself that they have a wonderful heart. Nice to be back.

A faded brown torn hat on my head,
My tearless stone like eyes painted red,
My weird long Hair made of hay,
Scarecrow, scarecrow they say.

My ugly, scary face round,
I just can’t afford to walk around,
No ears, so can’t hear a word, a sound,
I act all the time like I am spell bound.

My huge bulky body out of shape,
My lengthy untidy shirt like drape,
Day and night I stand alone,
I have no skin, no blood, no bone.

Looking at me, Oh look at me,
The little friendly birds flee,
Now I wish, I could talk and fly,
Be with them in the bright blue sky.

Instead will I spend? Will spend,
My life being alone, till the end,
Feeling great pain and sorrow,
Their wings I wish, I could borrow.

"Hardwork pays in the long run"

A sensitive, melancholic write, behind the apparent lightness and the metaphor of the scarecrow.

Beautifully written, dear Prasad!

To live up to the standars of beauty as they are dictated now by the media can bring enormous frustrations, especially in teenagers. The inner beauty is appreciated by wiser people, which means older people, who have already seen and experienced the impact of "a withering flower" on their own skin.

Thank you.

Love,
Margherita

Honestly Prasad, Margherita took the words right out of my mouth (keyboard)! She often does that but she expresses them far more eloquently than I!

I totally concur with her reply!

God bless all those who believe that they are scarecrows for they truly are beautiful in the eyes of God who created them.

Your poetry has such depth and is so meaningful and never fails to touch me deeply.

Much love to you, my friend,
Linda

Hi Margherita, as a kid and teenager I faced this scarecrow scenario myself. It took me very many years to get out of this feeling of mine. This one is right from my memory cupboard, which I kept closed for many years until now. Thanks so much for your comments. Prasad

association of one with a scarecrow. interesting and ouch-inducing comparison.

well, you don't really seem to write like a newcomer. good thoughts!

BRAVO for an outstanding write!
I didn't really see you as the scarecrow in the poem.
It's more of a generic write about people that aren't Ms or Mr America or Ms or Mr India, etc etc.
As always, you hit the bullseye, my friend.

Hi Kalie, thank you so much, you can call me a new comer; I’ve started writing poems only 5 months back. Thank you for your comments.
Hi Midnitesun, i am glad you didn’t think of me as one however many living around me did treat me like a scarecrow. Thank you for accepting me as your friend. Prasad
