Lulled by the ebb and flow.
Currents pull
in the wake of tides.
Summer slumbers
late in the afternoon.
Changing winds
buoy the spirit.
The sky streaks
a naked blaze.
My heart soars
on the crest of a wave
not yet broken.

It is in those moments before the heart breaks that is most exhilirating.
Like a long ride on the perfect wave that carries you all the way.

You are always so generous with your replies,  and
I appreciate your kindness very much, Margherita.

Dear Lori, may you one day find that perfect breaker, that never breaks your ride or, your heart.

But if it does, maybe the color of the ocean just wanted to see what the real bluezy looked like.

Wonderful to read you once again.

Poetess Lori, I am "lulled by the ebb and flow" of your oceanic words.

May your heart continue to soar "on the crest of a wave" ~ and never be broken.

Giving you a warm, loving hug,
Linda

Bluesie,
May it be an endless wave. I always like your imagery and how your mind works. Hope all is well.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

"not yet broken"

love that ending line. Actually loved the whole piece, very beautiful, but that last line is everything really. A friend once told me she loved the how my work ends, how the endings feel. I think I always appreciate a great ending too, else the rest doesn't work as well. This made me think of that.

Anyway, this is wonderful, keep it up

Reminds me so much of the Dave Mason song: Old Crest on a New Wave.

Gotta love Dave Mason too, he's still hot!  Thanks for the read, TB~
