I am a genuine dog lover and through my very varied lifetime I have owned a great amount of dogs of many breeds, But our little dog Rozzie is by far the most perceptive and with an ability to carry out what ever we tell her. She is like a child to Norma and me and we love her as such.
I hope you enjoy her poem.

            ROZZIE

Years ago when I was young,
In the town where I came from,
A good friend gave Mum a little dog,
A cross between a mini Foxy and a Pom.

She was such a lovely little dog
And smart as smart can be,
She chased foxes from their dens
And possums up their tree.

Fifty years have passed since then
So I thought I’d get another dog the same,
After three months watching trading post,
At last on the right advert I came.

One was advertised down at Ardeer
And the story goes as follows,
I went down and bought the pup
For the sum of one hundred dollars.

It’s the best hundred dollars I ever spent
And the main reason is because,
She’s smart as any dog can be
And for a name we called her Rozz.

Recently she proved her worth
With the tenacity of Mrs. Thatcher,
She sprang upon an escaping rat
And became a dedicated rat catcher.

She is so extremely quick to learn
When you see her attributes unfurled,
She can count and play and say good day
And we wouldn’t swap her for the world.

Lindsay

Delightful, Lindsay. We had a little pekinese we had for 12 years that my husband named Dolly after Dolly Parton. (She was blond and had a wide chest) She was like a member of the family and when she died it so hard to adjust without her.
I still think of all the smart and cute things she did.

Kool piece my friend...my favorite was an Irish Setter (dead now) that was more a friend than a dog...she never did learn to say g'day though....

At least never got the accent down...

I love my dogs too and understand how much your dog means to you. Your poem makes me smile ... and my dogs highly approve of it.  They give it four paws up!

Yo LindsayP,

This is a good poem.  Dogs are always cool players.  Dogs that kill rats are always good to have around.

My dog can beat-up your dog, but of course she wouldn't.

Hi Lindsay, I am a big Dog lover too; I had a Pomerian by Name Moti. This was when I was young. He is no more with us; his memories are all I have. Prasad

Dear Lindsay, I so enjoyed to read this warm and delightful tribute to your little Rozzie! Personally I have never had a dog, only cats, but I do know about the joy they bring from friends and relatives.

Love,
Margherita

Beautiful. But are you sure the dog isn't saying, "G'day mate?"

Margherita go straight down to the pet shop or lost dog's home and buy yourself a pup, you will be forever glad you did. Take it from one who knows. Thanks my dear.

Garapan, if I tell Rozzie to say Good day to anyone she always gives two short barks so she is probably saying g'day. Thanks my friend.

Thanks Vandana, I hope you have a dog as well. Have a great day my friend.

Don't you just hate it when that happens.  Stuard, Abby and Gromet (the three Stooges ... I mean the three pooches) all send their best to Rozzie and wave paws that direction.

Please thank the three pooches for their

good wishes and tell them that when I told Rozzzie she gave three short barks which

I'm sure showed her appreciation for their kind paw waving and thank you to Alison for the reply.

Linda you have got it all wrong, when it comes to being cute Rozzie leaves me a long

way in arrears. But it is still very kind of you to make that assumption A big hug and love to both you and Alison.
