Burning Daylight
By Paul Wilson

Nameless faces hurry scurry on their way
to places along life’s highway
Like machines never stopping
long enough too enjoy the day

Endless roads leading us forward
to endless goals we must achieve
Faster than the mind can think
wanting more than we can conceive

Gadgets make our lives go smoother
so we can do more faster
Travel the thin line between
control and ultimate disaster

Green is go…red means stop
a runaway train out of control
Faster… faster watch the clock
ten minutes late I’ve got too roll

The day is done no time too rest
tomorrow it will start all over again
This madness within my brain
won’t stop… this rat race I’ll never win

Nameless faces hurry scurry on their way
to places along life’s highway
Like machines never stopping
long enough too enjoy the day

I suppose it could seem like this without goals and priorities...James

It seems like this sometimes, Paul but I just refuse to do that, when things get too overwhelming I just shut a few things down and enjoy what is really important in life.
The funny thing is you get by just as well without it.

Well done. Very well done.

I currently work 70 hours a week, so i can relate.

Your message is powerful. You speak of a world so absorbed by material wants and needs. It sucks that we live this way.

Sucks.

Love your work.

Cheers

James...My goal in life is to enjoy it and to be satisfied with what I have, rather than trying to keep up with the Jones so to say. What good are material things if you kill yourself trying to get them...Paul

Ida...I agree with you, when things get overwhelming it's time to just back up and do what is important to us...Paul

Eagle...Thanks for understanding. I always said that whats the use of working your butt off just to try and keep up with the others in this rat race of a society...Paul

Yes Paul, it is a sad fact that most people put so much value into material things and

never stop to smell the roses along the way.
That is a great poem my friend and so very true. much enjoyed.

Dear Paul, you expressed this crazy race very well! Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

We must slow down and stop to BE, to be aware of the gift of life.

I am also getting tired of running to and fro ...

Love and hugs.
