  The Eternal Cosmic Dance

In the silver summer twilight
mid a flight of soft-edged
  dreams,
(that mingle with the rising moon)
there comes a memory-time
  of song and sorrow,
to cast off the fleeting days
and bygone years with no regret,
for they have passed you by
and shall not look back…
Simply join 100 billion galaxies
in the eternal cosmic dance!

Oh,Bruce, that rolls off the tongue so sweetly!
I'll join you in that "cosmic dance!"

Secondhanddreampoet,

It's true that time doesn't look back.  It just goes.

As far as trying to number the galaxies, that seems a dangerous proposition.

Nice work on this poem.

You write with a beautiful pen, Bruce.  I love the imagry that you create in your poetry - and I love the pieces of you that are sprinkled throughout.

That's a good place for the past... outer space.

I love your beautiful eternal cosmic dance, dear Bruce.

I understand that 100 billion stays for "uncountable"  and it sounds impressive anyway.

But nothing, no thought, no energy is ever lost, if it is true that past present and future are all packed in the moment of now.
It is an overwhelming theory, but fascinating too.

Love,
Margherita

To bad you learn to understand the "cosmic dance" when your dancing days are over. Maybe we're just practicing for "opening night."

Cosmic dancing is under rated,
as are your words, dear poet.....
