.

A slender blue
Country stream

Along its bank
A single line of trees

It is winter
There is snow
On one side

There is no one
In the view

And somehow
For reasons
No one can explain

That makes it
sad

I love Japanese woodcuts, and the art of Japan in general.
The scene you portray would not personally evoke sadness in me,
but remember many (if not most) Hiroshige cuts as having a human presence in them.

A fine poet-print, John.

.

Thank you all

K touched on it
It is somehow
the absence of anyone
that saddens the view

The best of Hiroshige
is very lively

Thanks again

John
