His Name Is Anthony

there will be
no lullabies
just silence
in the night
for you went
on a journey
and have taken
off in flight
words just ring
so empty
and drown
within the tears
you will not be
forgotten
your name
will ring for years
how you can love
and miss someone
you have never
even met
it is but our
breaking hearts
that will never forget
its not our place
to question
we just don’t understand
the why
and if you are watching
and see us sad
we just don’t
want to say
goodbye

for my grandson Anthony

Yo 1slick_lady,

He's watching Hon, kids do that.

God bless you.  This made me cry, and that's hard to do.

Anthony is a beautiful name.

Helen, I can not express the sadness I am feeling for you and your family right now. I wish we could understand times like these, but ours is not to question why. I sometimes wonder if perhaps it is to remind us just how very precious each of us truly are individually, and to each other?  I just wished I lived closer to give you a heart hug.

Oh Helen I just don't know what to say,
except how so very sorry I am to hear this sad, sad news.

Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours on this night.

Hang in there my friend.

Anthony ... Anthony ... I hear the tinkle of his sweet Heavenly sigh~

Holding you and your son and Rachel in the tender of prayer vigil~

Oh - I too am sorry.  I will never forget a friend of mine that held her baby, Katherine was her babie's name, for two hours before the baby passed.  As sad as my friend was, she told me later she felt blessed because Katherine knew nothing but the love and comfort of a mother and father while she was one this earth, and then the love of her Father when she went to Heaven.  I will say a little prayer for you and Anthony.

This is a favorite of mine that gave me comfort when my daughter passed away.
I just want to share it with you.

BE LIKE THE BIRD

Be like the bird, who
halting in his flight
on a limb too slight
Feels it give way beneath him.
Yet sings
Knowing he hath wings.

My friend, my heart...

Child Of The Stars

When night reaches out caressing my mind
with daylight around me fading,
when stars are not points of light in the sky
but torch light reminders of terrors I've seen,
I know I must pause and retrace my steps
before I let slip reality's reins.

When morning sits and waits for dawn
beneath the solace of the brightest stars
I always seem to be awake waiting with it;
my fears on hold, my timing checked,
my thoughts in retrospect critique the evening's passage
through open doors and memories of my dreams.

Child of the stars
your secret's safe with me;
without anniversary, or marking time,
I celebrate the memory of your briefly focused life
in the morning when I know I have survived.

I do not have wise-woman words.

Just know I love you, I care, and I am here.

You've got my number. (most everybody does... ?)

Like Maureen, I also tried several times to reply, but couldn't.

Hugs, tears, prayers for warm comfort for you, your son and Rachel.  Anthony may be so very, very, very young, but he knows more than all of us, for we see through a glass darkly, but he sees face to face and is smiling down his loving care on all of his loving family.

When I read what icebox wrote...the lump in my throat was the size of a grapefruit.
It is always devastating when a newborn doesn't make it through that first day.
hugs to the whole family, lady Helen.
