.

And the dragon
Came out of its cave

Large ferocious
All claws teeth
And scaly wings

As if bent
On ruin
Of so many things

To ask me
For a light

You are another word Wizard. I'm surrounded by magicians! The humor in this is crazy, by the way.

John,

It’s best to beware of dragons asking for a light.  They are many times looking for something else.

I think I have met that dragon you speak of (up close and personal)He is a fearsome but, I believe, temporary foe.

Not a very nice way to refer to one's supervisor.

This poem reminds me of a business client I worked with many, many, many, many years ago. My secret name for her was "Dragon Lady". Our meetings were always cordial, but I recognized her willingness to hurt those who displeased her. It kept me alert, very focused.

This made me smile ---- 'cause all I could think about was a nicotine-starved, angry spouse just waking up from a nap.
