Other people see her
and always comment on her eyes
Blue and green with long eyelashes
takes them by surprise

But she doesn't see what they see
her reflection makes her sigh

Other people see her
and always comment on her hair
Lush and wavy, golden brown
and hanging down to there

But she doesn't see what they see
and she wonders why they stare

Other people see her
and comment on her frame
She looks like 20 years ago
her body stayed the same

But she doesn't see what they see
her body's full of pain

Yo TinaTrivett,

This is well done, I like it loads, and hope she feels better soon.

I hope she sees herself before it's too. late and realizes how lucky she is.

Twenty years ago, I complained of ill-mannered thighs.

I saw a picture of me from twenty years ago.

What was I thinking?

I like this poem.  It's sad, but true.  We fail to see so often what others do....until the view is distorted.
