The evening breeze strokes my hair,
it carries an old familiar scent
from somewhere much too long ago,
the glorious days of youth I spent
honeysuckle-picking and licking,
trying to outrun the bees,

yes, it's been much too long
since I've felt...that evening breeze.

Oh, Dixie, so good that you are able to perceive this sweetness and to tell us in such a beautiful way. This will linger in my mind and it will have the same effect on me as it had on you ...

Love and hugs.

Passing shadows,

This is very good writing.  Those were probably my bees, I kept ten hives in your area.

I like your new picture.

Dixie, I loved this - but even more, I loved the fact that you are happy in this poem and in the moment.

Very nicely said. Reminds me of the passage of time and how precious and nostalgic memories can be.

Well said !!
