I stop for a second,
I take a deep breath.
I let my mind beckon,
“What do I have left?”
Now that despair takes none of my time,
I’ll realize the beauty of the great divine!
I step outside and what do I see?
All the wonders the world has to offer me!

Fresh summer grass,
I know it wont last,
But I have until fall
To walk on it all!

Water is my true weakness,
I am bound only by this:
Day and night the water calls me to swim,
The daytime is hot, I’m ready to jump in,
But the night is so cold I think I would lose a limb!

Thunderstorms I pray for as well,
Ones with thunder and lightning that crackle from hell!
Heavy raindrops falling from the sky for the duration of a day.
I don’t want to see the sun, not even a white cloud, just gray!
Open wide my windows for I want to hear the sounds,
That the summer offers with its dark graceful rain clouds.

Summertime,
After many years I am finally ready,
To see you for all your beauty.

Sometimes when other poets read poetry they look for things involving the mechanics of writing. I look for substance, as I have zero training in the art. The substance of this piece was a purely pleasurable experience. Thank you!

There!  You wrote about rain, as you said you would.  I can smell the wet earth after the summer rains.  Much enjoyed.

XgarapanX- I’m flattered J I think its funny that you say you have no training for the mechanics of poetry, because I find your words of conversation to be very poetic in themselves.

Owl- I try to keep to my words J I wanted to write about something that made me happy, maybe after it rains I can write about the smell of drying roses and wet earth !

Sea- hahhaha, well you know where I come from, we had two seasons, summer and mild summer! I cant wait for a thunderstorm here, im tired of the fifteen minute “rains” ( you and I both know what REAL rain is like)
