Don't ever take that for granted either.

If you've never had surgery on that particular part of your anatomy, consider yourself fortunate. I was discussing those painful particulars with a friend who had also been under the knife, and he told me, completely seriously:

"It was not until I had my sphincterotomy that I realized that every muscle in our bodies is connected to our anus."



Now technically, that's not true. But it certainly feels that way...I mean, if ya blink, you feel it there. *shuddering at the memory*

And yes, I have no shame.
