best friend

I always wonder how you are
so far away from me
I miss you more than ever
I hope someday I’ll see
your sweet and caring face
through my sad eyes again
its not easy never seeing
my best and dearest friend

we’ve been through so much together
and try so hard to stay in touch
its not easy but we find a way
because to us it means so much

I will always be your friend
so try and reach me anytime
and I’ll listen to your heart
and tell you what’s in mine

It might always be hard on us
but we’ll never give up a love
we took so long to build together
and are still writing the story of

our story so far is amazing
very few will ever understand
but we know the truth of all of it
as we walk across the sand

two best friends now on the beach
waiting for the distant sun to set
he carefully puts his arm around her
and they never will forget

as the sun slowly begins to fall
and the day gently becomes the night
they’ll remember this moment forever
as they watch the disappearing light
