Our poor kids
across the street
in the playground,
they play rough games.

Constantly competing,
to see who’s best.

That’s just the way it is,
and they fit right into the mold.

They’ll make good soldiers,
making the world
what you need,
and want it to be.

It’s the way we make them
here in the hood.

It pisses me off,
you don't deserve
our poor kids.

Bobby

If I may be honest, I was almost prepared to be disappointed with this poem until I got to the very end. Then I saw the substance I always look for in a piece of written work. The end winds it up nicely. One great point, simply said. I likey.

Thanks dear XGarapanX,

I'm more than pleased you caught my drift.

Our Memorial Day parades here in the hood are way too big, and long, and then there are the speeches, they are almost an apology.

There is more than a little truth to this one, Bobby.

Yes, dear Bobby, sadly that's the way it is, but oh how I wish we could love the world into change!

Very impressive.

Love,

Thanks dear Ida,

You've got it hon.  Rich old men make the wars, and poverty stricken kids fight them.

Thanks dear Passing shadows,

I may be wrong, but perhaps you know what this is all about.

I'm very pleased it worked for you.

It certainly worked for me as well Bobby,

a very good post, sad but true.

Thanks LindsayP,

For the kind words on this poem.  Yes, I always thought it was very wrong, and sad.
