Felix has always told Angelo,
while sitting Angelo on his lap—

“Don’t mess round wit no
stinkin weasel punks.

Der’re a waste a time.
What youse gotta do
is hang wit da
up-front crowd.

Dat ways ya don’t
end up picking
no steel
outta yur back.

Bobby

It's always good to hang with the up-front crowd. I gave my kids the same good advise.(with an Oregon accent.)

Bobby,

I love the advice and I love the accent.  And, above all, I love that Felix held Angelo on his lap.

Funny/strange, how your past experiences(or those of Felix) are no different than today's and tomorrow's...except it is no longer just city happenings anymore.

I really like the way you tell these stories, no complications, just the heart and soul of experience told in a fresh, readable way!

My father told me the very same thing! Mind you, I believe he used "weeds" and "flowers"  in his version!

A tender moment indeed between father and son, even though it was a tad rough 'round the edges! lol

Thanks dear Linda,

I'm pleased this poem worked for you.  I don't understand how it's rough around the edges.

Oh, I meant that in the kindest of ways. Remember, that a diamond has its start as a simple piece of coal.
