I climbed the bridge to catch the light
but out of time and into night, I sought
to find an easier way
a way of taking back my stay -
for time on earth was fraught with grief
without the billows of relief.

I have winnowed out the best
as these corroded lines attest, but pain
ensnared with ecstasy
has no power to set me free -
so lion taming without whips
became the trials of slides and slips.

I tried the layout of the lamb
the foil to help me un-enjamb
but paths too rigid to endure
have brought no peace no sinecure.
There’s nothing left that was delight
so I stand poised, prepared for flight.

The ceaseless echoes from the shore
brought me round and back for more.
Till Dargoroth takes me for his own
I see through eyes of sin and stone
that will not cede a heart to care -
until I wake and you’re not there.

Always do more than is required of you George Patton

No one can rhyme, have fun at the same time
make sense the way you do! Impeccable rhythm and rhyme,
and interesting storyline!

Hi, Keth! Life certainly is rife with "slides and slips"! Thank goodness for those "billows of relief." :pigtaisl:

May your lion's heart continue to be courageous and help you overcome all of life's challenges.

This not only took an education of the arts
to a fine level, but the gift of an artist
who has so many levels, thought we are finely,
and then only frequently, scheduled to a few of them...

:hugging you, your heart;

write on, Keth...

the world needs your light!

Beloved one, YOU ROCK, this is surely one of the best poems of the year! Without a doubt you are an amazing writer, and this is outstandingly good. Remember darling heart I'm studying the poets who are supposed to be the best, and this shows just how brilliant you are. The line and rhythm are what can only be described of as superb, with an artist touch of form that is unsurpassed by us mere mortals.

Oh how I wish I had your talent

Love and warm stuff
