In A Love Letter

there is so much of me
in letters I perhaps
will never send
or you may never read
it does not mean that
there is less of you with me
at night I reach for stars
and stumble, leaving my prints
across lingering darkness
where velvet silence crushes me
and here in my binding
there is a thread
from my heart that
leads directly to you
do you think you are forgotten
never in neglect
always your heart’s echo
what inspires a bird’s wings
to shutter also frees
a heart to fly
if my words are later opened
I hope they be for you
in a love letter

i also have a box and am at times leery of springing them out of the box.some are meant to just soothe when needed as this one did for me
