It was always going to be
under the barest of poet trees
In the shadow of fate
And fallen leaves

Where I was going to find you,

wasn’t it

Somewhere tween
the digital sky
And the fabled land
in some lost

lullaby

Is where our thoughts
first met and kissed,
And not soon after

too,

they cried

You are so close
the spiders from your breath
make the flesh of my neck
stiffen
and my skin erect

And yet,

You might as well be
on the other side of far
Four universes and a star

Away

Writhing beneath
the dripping words
from my lips
and into

your’s

Lie with me again anew
on the soft and gentle morning
dew
Beneath the shade of naked limbs
and thirsty fingers

once again,

Thrusting through
the lush of dark
as dampish warmth

Runs down between

the spread of branches overhead,
the towering firmness
of glistening

sheen

You can tear the pages
from this tree
And you can burn the wood
and the words

from me

But the smoke will rise
and the wind will blow

And you’ll feel
our thoughts
each time

it flows

Within the fields or against
your skin,
the beauty of our love

within

Affection makes us
who we are,
that’s all it ever
was

about

You’re as much
of me,
As I am
of you

In that I hope
you have

no doubt

There is no light
without

the tears,

There can’t be bliss
without

the fears

It’s pain from sky
and the prism

of smiles,

That plays with light
that shines

for miles

That casts the hue
that makes it clear
how much I’ve loved you

My sweet dear

This place
Was here
before we came

A closeness
that should
bring not
shame

Where we’ll embrace
Like in the past

When rain from eyes
Falls down so fast

And light
from spirit
shines up
to kiss

Once more
Because of you
I missed

Our carved
initials
Because
of us
Immortalizes
love
we trust

Our bridge
to
each other
was always there
In the feelings
we couldn’t help
But share

You’ll always be
my beauty of light
My arch of hope,
my end of night

Reflecting rays
Into illusions
Which then
brings forth
The grand
protrusions

Of beginnings

into ends

in all my love
to you
I send

Yes way up high
In lullabies
Where I am blue
And earth meets sky
The dreams that you
So dare to dream
Come true
if you look
In between

The wishing up
Upon the stars

And clouds behind you
Oh so far

Beyond the troubled
Lemon drops

That melt upon
The chimney tops

Is where,

You

will find

me

Somewhere Over,

Your Rainbow

The passion in your soul literally dripped down the page and I thirstily drank up your words. Sighing, here. Fortunate is she for whom you write!

I would buy a book of your love poems in a heartbeat!

What a uniquely defined distance! But she must be quite close to your heart, where you feel her presence so beautifully.

Dear Richie, there are long poems which seem long and then there are long poems which seem too short, like yours here. Ok, we can read it again, yes, for it is deeply captivating!

Love,
Margherita

What a wonderful expansion of Over the Rainbow!  Exquisite photograph, but the poem surpasses it.

And wow, do I agree with Margherita!  I feel cheated when I get to the end of your poems.  I feel that they should go on forever!  The only solution is to read them again and again.

Although I realise that there must be hundreds of women bashing in your front door, the reason why you haven't found your mystical woman is that there are none to match you and that is sad.  Of course, it does give birth to your exquisite poetry, but I would rather you were happy - OK, let me be completely honest - I would rather that you were happy AND we get your beautiful poetry!

So often your poetry makes my day, it is that inspiring.
I am drawn to the tenderness that lies within and the promise of love in the making.

You've got a heart of gold, good poet Sir~

Earth Angel ~ Sorry about the drips Linda Lou, I’m pretty messy aren’t I? The person to whom I write for is cumulation of many beautiful souls that have crossed my path over time; several of them being right here at PIP. Thanks so much dear friend as always for you warm kindness!

Margherita ~ Thank you my dear, yes, I’m long winded if I’m anything. It once took me twenty minutes to tell someone that I’m a man of few words lol. Yes, in some ways, she is close to my heart.

OwlSA ~ Dear Diana, there is no bashing of doors I promise you that lol. Our poems are just dreams and desires, put down on print yes? The mystical characters in our writing are just ponderings of passion, and all else wondrous. You need to chop me down a few miles, my dear. I snore, I bite my nails, I scratch (ewww!) and I once stepped on a spider that was getting too many ideas (yikes!)
Sometimes we just feel like living vicariously through our imaginations. The storyteller just does a better job sharing it with others. Thank you my wonderful friend.

BluesSerenade ~ My Dear Lori, how wonderful your reply makes me feel that I could in any way, shape, or form, bring some joy intto your day. That just made my day, and for that I so thank you!

Rich - Imagination is the mother of creation.  You have created something beautiful here (as you do in all your poems)and so I am sure that it will one day come alive - one day or one lifetime but we're impatient creatures, aren't we? However, perhaps you are writing from memory, soul memory, and now you can smile because you've been there and done that.

Take care and keep imagining!

Glad to know you are human like the rest of us, however, you do have the gift of "storytelling" (as you call it) down so well, it makes the rest of us swoon!

Star....lol
