.

I don’t remember
Stars above the lights
In San Diego

There were yellow
Footprint pairs
Painted on the ground
That we stood on
Moving only at our peril

Kiss the life
You had goodbye
You’re no longer
With your mother

You belong to us
You useless pukes
And we’re here
To teach you
How to die

Yo John,

This is an excellent description of basic training in the U. S. Military.  I got a kick out of it.
