I watched her leave
with a tear in my eye
Alone standing sad
not knowing just why
As she rebbed up the engine
around the curves
Today we all knew
would be hard on the nerves
Will she be safe
in the world around us
Pay full attention,
be extra precautious
She has to know
to look left and look right
And make sure all others
are in clear sight
Did we tell her all
she needs to know
Before sending her out
in the traffic flow
Nothing can prepare us
for something like this
Though it's one thing in life
we're sure not to miss
From the moment I held her
When she was a baby
I knew she'd turn into
One beautiful young lady
Now the time has come
for her big day
My precious Niece
Got her license today!!!!
6/12/08
To my lovely niece, Paige
Be safe out there baby girl!!

Paige has added insurance with a loving aunt like yourself looking out for her and sending prayers of protection up to the "The BIG Guy Upstairs!"

Paige, mind what your auntie says!

Sending up another prayer of protection for your niece . . . . .  There, it's been sent!

You all make me smile with the love and prayers. Can't thank you enough!! Every bit helps. Adn I'd like to think she does listen to me. She drove to my house first thing after she got her license!! It really did bring tears to my eyes when she drove away!!
Happy yet scared for her. She has always been so special to me!!

I remember the first time my oldest daughter pulled away from the house the day she got her driver's licence. I watched her go and felt so afraid for her, remembering my first few weeks on the road. My brother and I taught her to drive which is a terrifying experience in itself.

Yeah, but if you remember when we began, we, of course, knew what we were doing, right?? Different ballgame, now!!!

Very sweet.  An Aunt and a niece... hmmm, nice theme!     Hope all is well.  My niece also just got her license and I can't believe my little sweetie is driving.  I too have a very special one!

Oh Kris, I wish I would have had an Auntie like you to worry about me. That is such a great post and I hope Paige will appreciate not only the thought that went into the writing but also the love that you feel for her. A big hug my dear and God Bless.

Lindsay
