What a nice day
for sitting on the porch
and enjoying the flowers.
The cats sit around my chair.
A tiny hummingbird
is standing still, in motion,
a few inches from my face.
The cats and I
are calmly watching the bird
and thinking,
"So, what's your point?"

A Rockwell painting in words! It made me smile ~ and also made me wish that I was sitting there on the porch with you!

Hummingbirds look like they're going nowhere fast! lol

I read this poem to my cats and they both looked smug and said,

"Right on!"

They said beauty ain't all that great if it plays hard to get.

I tried to explain the concept of just enjoying beauty for beautys sake - and they sneered.

You would like my backyard, Linda. We could relax, have a glass of tea and chit chat. I have a feeling we would be great friends with much in common.
Alison, I think you would be the perfect lady to join us. I think we would have a lot to talk about.
                    Hugs to both of you.

Delightful, dear Ida! I hope the cats are too lazy to catch the sweet hummingbird!
I would love to come and join the tea party!
Love and hugs.

May Tigger, my tabby, and Daisy my Maltese poodle also join you?  Love your poem, Ida.

Ida and Alison, please give your cats lots of hugs each from Auntie Di, and meeows from Tigger and woofs from Daisy.

PS

Ida, Rowdy and Boodha wished me to explain beauty to ya'll.

They say it ain't beautiful 'til it's deep fried.

Love,
A,R & B

And we would love to come to your tea party.  I have the perfect hat and they have appetites.

Yo Ida,

My dog Hilda owns a company named “Hummingbird Protective Services”.

Like me, she works cheap.

A few dog biscuits will do the trick.

Su casa es mi casa! ~ Love your "open door" policy! Yes! The more the merrier! Gosh, I wish we didn't live thousands of miles apart!

Love to you and your lovable little menagerie!
My little Angel would love to play with your cats ~ and we could all enjoy watching the hummingbird and smell the flowers.

Warm hug of love and a beaming smile,
Linda

Thanks, Ladies and you're all invited to a tea party at my house anytime.

Yes, Kacy. I truly love nature. That's the reason I enjoy your writing so much.

Such a sweet captured moment!

I've been chased around by irate hummingbirds. They're very territorial and apparently humans should stay clear if they know what is good for them
