Well this poem is not about nature however it is about nature of man towards life.Let me know if you too are affect by this Race attitude towards life.

As a child was compared to my cousins,
Not one but dozens,
Not only during my primary education,
This continued till my graduation.

Elders see children like race horses,
In this race there are no pauses,
If you win they are proud,
If you lose, you are out.

As a child I ran for my father and mother,
As a young boy ran for my lover,
As a man I ran the race for my wife,
Is that all it is, the race of life.

Now I lie alone in my bed,
Tears roll down my cheeks, eyes red.
I’ve become too weak for the race,
My joints pain, I am unable to keep up pace.

Now I lie alone in my bed,
Tears roll down my cheeks, eyes red.
Wondering if this race was worth the run,
I forgot to live life, which is suppose to be fun.

Had enough leading my life like a slave,
It is time for me to come out of the dark cave,
Oh God, give me the courage to be brave,
I want to live life before entering the grave.

And if you too, are running the worldly race-
it is time to pause,
stop pointing out all the flaws,
Free yourself from the worldly clause;
if you don’t live this moment, it is a great loss.

Yes,Prasad, I know what you are talking about, my joints ache too after running the race. I am retired now and for the first time in my life have time to do what I want to do. I just wish I had more energy to do it. You said it well.

Yo Prasad,

This is well written and fun.  However, where did you ever come up with the idea that life is supposed to be fun?

Prasad ~

So many of us who read this, will undoubtedly be able to identify with what you're saying ~ but most of us would not be able to say it as well as you have just done!!!

Life is more fun when we live it as we choose to do so ~ and on our terms.

You've played the game by their rules ~ Now you can have fun and run with the ball to the finish line! lol

Loving hug and an understanding smile,
Linda

Dear Prasad, this is a very well written and thought provoking poem. No doubt we race through life at rhythms that require some intervals, otherwise we miss the opportunity to go beyond the surface.
I would like you to consider that there is joy in being there for others, it is what I call "love in action". So do not regret what you have offered during your life, your heart is a well of love .. inexhaustible ... Probably you have neglected those precious moments of doing just what you liked to do ... now go and paint all the love you have shared ... and enjoy yourself by doing so.
Love,
Margherita

Ida, unfortunately I have just been in the race only for 7 years. I have to go a long way to retire. My dad feels this way, he is retired now.
Bobby, I see all my friends enjoying all the time. Whereas I am here working hard for my family, well they always say life is fun. At least that’s what I presume.
Linda, surely when i retire, I want to definitely play the game by my rules. Thanks Linda, thanks for your understanding.
Margherita, now I have set aside some time for myself. I do paint and write few lines every time I get a chance.
Romantic Heart, thanks a ton for these kind words. No one around me thought I had talent though.
At least with poems. I feel great to read these comments. You people are not only great poets but also have a big heart. These words are like water and sunlight for this tiny plant to grow. With great gratitude I say this. Prasad

A wonderful carpe diem reminder, to be mindful to LIVE each moment of LIFE, to stop racing past each unique moment on the way to some other point in time!

What a magnificent piece. I too believe we live life too fast, too quick to judge others, and not reflect on our own. I wish the world would slow down. In fact, I wish I were around back in the old days when family and friends really meant something. Thanks for sharing, Great job!!!

When I read what you wrote in your reply to your readers ~

"You people are not only great poets but also have a big heart. These words are like water and sunlight for this tiny plant to grow. With great gratitude I say this. Prasad"
