Thunder rolls today
as heavy as my heart
and as loud as a train
roaring on its depart.

But I shine somewhere
in between the fall
of angry clouds full
of really nothing at all.

It's only water...
like people and tears.
Like everything else,
it too disappears.

So don't mind my sadness,
just know that I smile
when splashing in puddles
mile after mile...

enjoying these storms all the while
because they'll be leaving soon
the best memories are made right here
within a thunderstormy afternoon.

Dix, speaking of thunderstorms, we got dumped on yesterday afternoon...was soaked within 3 seconds of  going to the car.

Like yourself, I enjoy "A thunderstormy afternoon". A time for quiet reflection ~ a 'me' time ~ a down time. It is the yin that balances the yang of the vibrant, sunny days!

A great write! One with which I can definitely identify!

Keep on shining! As you noted, water evaporates, and sunny days will appear again!
