Harvest Moon

On the rising of the harvest moon magic's in the air
If you go down by the woods there’s something happening there
Within a clearing by a lake a wondrous sight you’ll see
As tiny folk all gather for a night of revelry

The elves will sail the lake upon a small enchanted ship
While fairies swoop down from the sky to take a little dip
Elves then cast their magic nets to catch the Nemoper fish
A strange and wondrous creature that’s a favorite elfin dish

The fairies then will cast a spell of mystical delight
That fills the sky with colored sparkles glowing clear and bright
The pixies race each other on the backs of unicorns
While gnomes blow out a chorus on their magic golden horns

It really is a sight to see upon a starlit night
When faerie folk all gather in the shining clear moon light
To listen as the brownies play a soft and gentle tune
And watch the little people dance beneath the harvest moon

Ahhhh.... I love this.  I want to write a poem about fairies and elves now!  Very nice - I hope you have more of these!

Much enjoyed.  I challenge you not to be of Irish descent!

Hi graeshine, I've already posted a bunch but I have a few more I may dig up. Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Ida, I don't know if I'll get around to publishing a second book but maybe someday. The first one was fun though. Glad you enjoy my writing.

Owl, I'm a soup hound. I have a little bit of everything in me. Thanks for commenting.

Steve, you know I'm a sucker for your fairy tales! ~ and everything else you write!

I read in your reply that you already have written one book ~ Why am I not surprised?!?

Let me know if you ever get around to publishing book #2. Like Ida, put my name on the list!

Love 'n elfin magic,
Linda
