the reassurance of stone
when you were bare backed alone
against your favorite brick wall
and you had your velvet eyes on

the light didn't seem to bother you
something about boheme warm
and shadows in your bath
gave you laughter kind

that came around again often
when you looked back at then
and saw the girl woman's smile
on your own lip rooms brim

forbidden was just another name
that slipped from your tongue
not a shape you feared to know
only the familiarity of knowing it

if a stranger heard your whisper

What a captivating title for an equally captivating poem, dear D.!

quote:
... if a stranger heard your whisper

It's good to know there are strangers who can surprise us with their deep sensitivity!

Margherita

"forbidden was just another name

this is so intriguing, compelling the reader to relish it as we run over and over it in our minds...well done
